Although the US market is made up of Chinese made goods, our relationship with the Chinese will maintain so long as we keep buying.
With troops removed from Iraq (only a short distance away in Kuwait) and the pressing message from the administration to get out as soon as possible in Afghanistan, the budget analysts are licking their lips in hopes of gutting the US Defense Department's budget. Defense Sec.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine pulled me aside and asked if the company I worked for was hiring.

A closer look at the new Taiwan Defense Bill. The sale of refit F-16s could assist in maintaining key jobs within the US aircraft industry. Over 6 billion dollars brought back to American jobs.
Another example of the new approach to the growing influence and fear of China: Appeasement.
Japan among several other Pacific nations are growing more concerned on the capabilities and projected strength of the Chinese armed forces, specifically the Chinese Navy. China has been involved in a mass modernization program for it's military forces since the mid 1990s.
Once again we allow US funded, research, developed, and implemented technology to be sold cheaply to the Chinese for the fast dollar. Who is GE's CEO? Oh yeah, he is the current business czar. I am sure all the security protocols were conducted prior to this sale.
In case you missed it since the major media networks seem to be avoid any negative reporting on matters that pertain to the Chinese/American situation, the Defense Department recently released their study on the military capabilities of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
I located this article recently in the news magazine "Army Times".

When I first began to view this website, I was in awe at the number of interesting articles, stories, and personal opinions. Various opinions would create some debates but the debates would be done in a adult manner.

In a move to counter the growing Iranian political/military presence within the Middle Eastern region, the Saudi Arabian Government has sought a huge arms package to deal with several "what if scenarios".
With the draw down of US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan in the near future, the Defense Department has begun to see where the fiscal year cuts will be and when it will begin.
Well, at least this author seems to understand the situation better then some of our government leaders. Too bad that this guy is not making policy for Pakistan-US relations.
If Pakistan would actually go after the various hardline tribes, groups, and terrorist cells that actively support Al Qaida, Taliban, and insurgent operations, then the chance for actual peace within Afghanistan might occur.
HANOI, Vietnam — A visit to Vietnam this week by Robert M. Gates, the United States defense secretary, is just the latest step in a bilateral relationship that is at its warmest since diplomatic ties were established 15 years ago.
In case you missed this growing issue that had a number of South Pacific countries starting to worry on China's posture, here is another link.
To those who feel that the Chinese are not seeking future confrontation against the United States... think again.
Recently I was channel surfing through the cable shows and came across several hours documentary about the violence in Oakland, California. A rise of violence based on on-going turf wars between various gangs has gotten so bad that the place is being called, "Baby Iraq".

I didn't vote for President Obama during the recent Presidential election. I wanted Sen. McCain to win. Having said that I have accepted the fact that we have a new President, a Democrat President, and the first black American President.

Mac,
Your post really touched me.
I'm well past my military service now. I've come to terms with it.
Yours is still very fresh.
If you ever want to talk with someone, I'm here.
Sent you a FR - we will probably disagree much more than we will agree but i like your style...you should run for office - just try and know what you have to offer is more than what they do to try and bring you down.

Thanks MAC. I really enjoyed your post regarding troop withdrawal from Iraq. You summed up what the media knows but has failed to inform about Saddam's Regime and the terrorist threat.

Thankyou Mac, you summed up my fellings exactly. My co-worker (a traffic officer) was gunned down by an assault riffle, and while the scene was being investigated people who drove by the freeway were upset that the offramp was closed. even though the officer's body still lay in the middle of the road riddled with bullets. The so called citizens (who has teh same mind set as patriots previous entry) yelled out "open up the off ramp, he is dead already." These people like Patriot seem to foget that these criminals are and were gonna eventualy commit crime to innocnet citizens.
God bless you and your service to our country. Stay safe.

Thanks for the support on that hostile thread. Thanks for the book titles. Blessings on you.
