I didn't vote for President Obama during the recent Presidential election. I wanted Sen. McCain to win. Having said that I have accepted the fact that we have a new President, a Democrat President, and the first black American President.

Is it me or is everyone else getting annoyed with movie stars attempting to dabble into the world of American politics? I mean Lindsey Lohan making comments about Palin? What real world issues does Lindsey Lohan understand?

I think we have all thought about being President or made that comment, "If I were President I would do this differently...."

The next phase in this never ending chapter in my life began early today at 0600 hours. I got up and made my way to the physical therapy department to wait until the physical therapist to show up on time.

Having sat in the waiting room for several minutes I was asked to follow a civilian to the excersise equipment. There were several Soldiers working out on various pieces and a few conducting weight training to rebuild their torn bodies.

Someone asked me recently if we did anything for US holidays? Sure, we attempt to celebrate major US holidays just like everyone else does. But due to on-going operations and mission requirements, we can't shut everything down and relax like we would want too.

One of our teams needed to make a run down to the Green Zone in downtown Baghdad. So like normal I was placed in the rear vehicle. Driving down the road as fast as we can the driver of the first SUV caught a glimpse of a large pool of water at the base of the highway overpass.

The worst position in a convoy to me was the rear gunner seat. I called it, "tail gunner" and I seemed to get the job every time I went into the red zones. So at our operational trailer we had a dry eraser board with today's mission and the next up-coming mission.

Thanks MAC. I really enjoyed your post regarding troop withdrawal from Iraq. You summed up what the media knows but has failed to inform about Saddam's Regime and the terrorist threat.

Thankyou Mac, you summed up my fellings exactly. My co-worker (a traffic officer) was gunned down by an assault riffle, and while the scene was being investigated people who drove by the freeway were upset that the offramp was closed. even though the officer's body still lay in the middle of the road riddled with bullets. The so called citizens (who has teh same mind set as patriots previous entry) yelled out "open up the off ramp, he is dead already." These people like Patriot seem to foget that these criminals are and were gonna eventualy commit crime to innocnet citizens.

God bless you and your service to our country. Stay safe.
